Popcorn Balls Gluten Free

Ingredients

  • 1 cup sugar
  • ½ cup water
  • 1 tsp vinegar
  • 2 Tbsp light Karo Syrup
  • ½ tsp salt
  • 1 Tbsp oleo or butter
  • Food coloring
  • 16 cups popped corn

Directions

  1. Combine sugar, water, vinegar, corn syrup, and salt. Cook to very hard ball stage (265 degrees using candy thermometer). Add 1 Tbsp butter. Add a few drops of food coloring.
  2. Pour over popcorn and mix until well coated, then form into balls.
  3. TIPS: dip hands into ice water before forming balls. Spray large bowl or pan with cooking spray before you add the popcorn and candy to keep from sticking.
