Goat Cheese Fondue

Ingredients

  • 1 pound gouda cheese, shredded
  • 2 tbsp butter
  • ¼ cup all-purpose flour
  • 1 ½ cup milk
  • 2 tsp finely chopped garlic
  • 1/8 tsp ground nutmeg
  • ¼ cup dry white wine
  • 2 tsp Kirsch
  • Bread, cubed
  • Pepper to taste

Directions

  1. Melt the butter in a heavy saucepan over low heat; add the flour, stirring with a wire whisk. Add the milk, stirring rapidly with whisk. Slowly stir in shredded cheese, stirring constantly. When blended and smooth, add the garlic, pepper, nutmeg and wine. Add the kirsch, if desired. Serve hot with bread cubes for dipping.
