Makes 8 servings
- 2 pounds bacon, chopped
- 1/2 onion, chopped
- Salt and pepper to taste
- 1 tsp minced garlic
- 3 pounds fresh green beans, trimmed
- Heat a large pot over medium-high heat. Add bacon, onion and garlic, and cook until browned.
- Gradually stir in the green beans, stirring to coat with bacon grease. Reduce heat to low, cover, and cook for 5 to 6 hours, stirring occasionally to prevent sticking.
