Baked Walleye in Sour Cream

Makes 5 servings


  • Salt and pepper
  • 1 cup sour cream
  • 3 pounds walleye
  • ¼ tsp thyme leaves
  • ½ cup parmesan cheese, grated
  • 2 tbsp onion, finely minced
  • ½ cup bread crumbs
  • 2 tbsp butter, soft
  • 2 tbsp lemon juice
  • 5 strips bacon


  1. Salt and pepper the fish. Mix the minced onions with soft butter and spread on the fish. Lay the bacon strips on the bottom of a shallow baking dish and lay in the fish.
  2. In a bowl, mix the sour cream, thyme, grated cheese, breadcrumbs, and lemon juice and spread the mixture over the fish.
  3. Bake at 325 degrees for about 30 minutes or until the fish is flaky.
  4. Serve with tossed salad and baked potato.
